3. Accidents
An accident or fall is another common cause of the problem. It is not uncommon for athletes to injure their joints. Many sports people suffer from this problem because they do not wear the proper protection during training and racing. If the protective cartilage of a joint is damaged, the bones can move on their own and cause considerable pain. Bones that do not fit properly in a joint can also cause a breakdown of the cartilage and the bones may impinge upon the other side of the joint. This can cause the cartilage to break down and become deformed.
